LA Contemporary Art Gala

Cutest Couple:
Minnie Mortimer Gaghan and Stephen Gaghan
The Chows!!!
Here are some of my favorite photos (thanks style.com) from the annual MOCA Art Gala. The event took place November 13th and was hosted by Chanel Fine Jewelry. The gala began with a private viewing of The Artist's Museum, which showcases 146 artists who have represented LA contemporary art during MOCA's 30-year history. The exhibit is on display through January 31, 2011. The best part about the gala is the sea of Chanel!! Oh, and check out Kate Mulleavy and her Raiders tee...haha...way to represent the majority in LA Kate!

JR Denim/Historical Collection

For my Junior Denim Collection, I decided I would pick a store that follows trends but still stays true to its feminine aesthetic. I then chose a decade where I could find inspiration. The 1920’s was a perfect match for the teenage girls I saw wearing my clothes. In my collection, I designed for an empowered young lady, one who is not afraid to take charge and be the center of attention. She wants people to take notice of her, but respect her and her ideas.

OMG Leighton!

If you haven't seen the the black lace harem jumpsuit by Marchesa that Ms. Meester wore for the Harry Winston event, well here she and it is! No wonder Anna Wintour has chosen to take her costar Blake Lively under her wing-she represents classic styles and colors at their best. On the contrary, Leighton Meester is all about edgy style. Whether she’s rocking a crocheted Marc Jacobs gown, or a leather Chanel cocktail dress, the style star is never afraid of taking fashion risks.

After all, this is what fashion is all about-dressing to express an emotion or an identity. I personally admire her risks and what she represents to the style world. I mean, let's face it, we're not all the pretty, blonde, All-American type girl.
